COMMON QUESTIONS
-
How long does my hair need to be before I can wax?The hair needs to be 1/4ths of an inch, the size of a rice grain for body hair. It is recommended 2mm-6mm for facial hair.
-
Can I wax on my menstrual cycle?Yes. As long as there is a tampon inserted. You may be a little more sensitive during this time, to both the heat and pain.
-
Can I go to the pool or beach after my wax?It is not recommended. You should wait at least 24 hours after your wax.
-
Can I take a shower before/after my wax?Yes, you may. Just be sure to shower with luke warm water, not too hot.
-
Is this going to hurt?Yes you will feel a little discomfort for your first time, but each time after, as long as you don't shave in between, it gets easier.
-
How long will my results last? The face wax lasts anywhere from 1-3 weeks depending on if there is a hormone imbalance present. The body wax lasts anywhere from 4-6 weeks. The longer period of time that you wax for, the longer it will take for your hair to grow back. As each time the hair is waxed, the hair follicle is diminished causing the hair to grow in thinner and slower.
-
Can I get waxed if I am taking medications? It is very important you let your technician know if you are currently taking any oral or topical medications - especially for acne such as Retin-A or Accutane. We advice to stop the medication at least 7 days prior and post your bikini wax. If you have any medical conditions that the specialist should know about.
